Lagelu Leaders Reject APC Congress Outcomes in Oyo

Leaders from the Lagelu Local Government Area in Oyo State have expressed their dissatisfaction with the outcomes of the recent local government congress conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC). They described the process as an imposition of candidates, which does not reflect the will of the party members at the grassroots level.

The grievances were articulated in a petition addressed to the state chairman of the APC, with signatures from several stakeholders across various wards, including Chief Ajuwon Jame Olusegun from Ward 2 and Chief Mr. Jemilat Adesina Ajimobi from Ward 4.

The aggrieved leaders accused certain individuals of orchestrating the imposition and called for an immediate review of the congress outcomes. They demanded the adoption of an authentic harmonized list approved by the party's national headquarters in Abuja and urged strict implementation of this list alongside the direct state leadership, prohibiting the imposition of individuals regardless of their status.

In response, Wasiu Sadar, the APC's public secretary in Oyo State, acknowledged the grievances and urged patience among the aggrieved members, noting that the party has established mechanisms to address disputes.
