Remembering Toba Joel Ajiboye: A Life of Courage

Ahmed Alaofin commemorates Toba Joel Ajiboye, affectionately known as "Bdá Joel," who played a significant role in the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC). Growing up in Idi-Oro, Mushin, Ajiboye exhibited exceptional courage from a young age, notably opposing injustice at Nigeria Model High School.

His dedication to the OPC distinguished him as a trusted protector of Otunba Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland. His influence was so profound that Dr.

Frederick Fasehun, leader of a rival OPC faction, expressed regret over losing him to Adams. Ajiboye's fearless leadership transformed their community, liberating it from the grip of Comrade Femi Jplum and leading campaigns against armed robbers in Mushin.

However, his rise attracted opposition, particularly from Baba Alado, resulting in a turbulent period marked by gang violence that nearly cost him his life.
