APC Urged to Choose Migili Running Mate for 2027 Election

The Migili Traditional Council, led by Dr. Ayuba Agwadu, and the Migili Cultural Development Association, represented by Dr.

Abu Isaac Ishaq, have formally appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to choose a running mate from the Migili ethnic group for the upcoming 2027 gubernatorial election. In a statement, they emphasized that the Migili people, who are spread across five local government areas in Nasarawa State, including Lafia, Doma, Obi, and Keana, have a voting population of approximately 50,000.

They lamented that despite their significant electoral bloc, the Migili ethnic group has not been adequately represented in the state's political leadership, particularly in the role of Deputy Governor. The statement underscored the historical presence of the Migili people in Lafia and called for their inclusion in the political process to ensure equitable representation in the forthcoming elections.
