Families of Offa Robbery Victims Reject Political Exploitation

Families of victims from the April 2018 Offa bank robbery in Kwara State have strongly condemned the politicization of the tragedy by politicians. Abdulraheem Babatund, spokesperson for the victims' families, emphasized the need for real action and justice rather than media propaganda.

He criticized former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki for resorting to media narratives instead of clearing his name in court regarding allegations linked to the robbery.

The families expressed their disappointment over the lack of adequate support and care for those affected, highlighting the ongoing trauma and grief in the community. They called on the government to provide necessary compensation and support to the victims' families and to stop using the tragedy as a political tool, especially during election periods.

The statement also noted that this incident marked the third time Offa had experienced such brutal robberies, calling for accountability and respect for the lives lost.
