EFCC Invites Osun SUBEB Chairman for Grant Investigation

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited Ibukun Fadip, the Executive Chairman of the Osun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), for questioning related to an investigation into the management of federal government counterpart grants. This invitation is detailed in a letter dated May 19, 2026, signed by EFCC Director of Investigation Abdulkarim Chukkol.

Fadip is required to appear at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on May 26, 2026. The investigation concerns the utilization of counterpart grants for executing projects under the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) scheme in Osun State for the year 2024.

The EFCC's letter cites Section 38 (1) and (2) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Establishment Act of 2004. The commission has requested detailed documentation related to eight issues connected to the grant projects, including records of contract awards, payment details, and project status reports.
