Police Deploy Bomb Disposal Teams for Eid-el-Kabir Security

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has announced the deployment of bomb disposal teams to various worship centers and public venues in Abuja in preparation for the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen security measures and ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The announcement was made in a statement on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh. The command, led by Commissioner of Police Ahm Sanusi, is intensifying security operations throughout the territory.

This includes collaboration with various security agencies such as the military, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, and Nigerian Immigration Service. The operation, codenamed "Operation Sweep FCT," involves strategic sector divisions and ongoing patrols to prevent and respond to criminal activities.

The command urges residents to remain law-abiding and report any suspicious activities through designated emergency lines.
