Ekiti State Launches Operation Against Bandits and Kidnappers

In Ekiti State, a collaborative bush combing operation has commenced to combat banditry and kidnapping, ordered by Police Commissioner Michael Falad and executed by an inter-agency team that includes the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police, NSCDC, Amotekun Corps, and DSS. Brig Gen Ebenez Ogundana (Retd) stated that the operation aims to ensure the safety of citizens and restore normalcy in the state.

The first phase of the operation has already taken place in the Ekiti North border area, resulting in the arrest of suspects. Ogundana emphasized the importance of maintaining public safety and urged citizens to continue their daily activities without fear.

The operation will continue until further notice, focusing on clearing criminal hideouts and preventing attacks on worship centers and farms. The police command has been tasked with ensuring visible security presence and addressing any criminal activities along the borders with Kwara, Kogi, and Ondo states.
