Ethiopian Airlines to Launch Four New Domestic Airports

Ethiopian Airlines has announced plans to open four new domestic airports in Ethiopia within the next two months. The initiative, revealed by CEO Mesfin Tasew, aims to streamline domestic flight operations and enhance access to regional cities, thereby boosting Ethiopia's socio-economic growth.

The airports under construction are located in Negel Borena, Gore, Mettu, Mizan Aman, Mizan Teferi, and Debre Marko, with construction nearing completion. Once operational, Ethiopian Airlines will increase its domestic destinations from 23 to 27.

Mesfin Tasew emphasized that this expansion is not solely a commercial strategy but also a national responsibility, as the airline provides regular domestic flight services that millions of people depend on for mobility and emergency services.
