New Fertilizer Brand Launched to Boost Nigerian Agriculture

Dr. Mustapha Radda, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Fertilizer Company, announced the launch of a new organomineral fertilizer designed to support farmers during a time of high agricultural input costs that threaten food security in Nigeria.

This announcement was made while addressing a high-level delegation of laboratory scientists and a technical team from the Jigawa Research Institute (JRI) in Katsina State. The organomineral fertilizer combines organic materials such as compost, poultry manure, crop residues, and animal waste with mineral nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.

The goal is to provide a more affordable fertilizer option for local farmers, boost agricultural development, and reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers. Dr.

Suleiman Rufa Babura, the Director General of JRI, expressed satisfaction with the operational standards of the fertilizer production process during a visit to collect samples for laboratory analysis. This initiative is part of Jigawa State Government's ongoing efforts to ensure farmers have access to effective, high-quality agricultural inputs.
