Otu Threatens Recall of Arrogant Lawmakers in Nigeria

Bassey Otu, the Governor of Cross River State, has declared his intention to activate the recall process for lawmakers from the National Assembly who fail to represent the interests of the people, labeling them as indolent and arrogant. He made this statement during a recent address, particularly targeting members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who lost in the recent party primaries.

Otu expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of representation, warning that any lawmaker who disregards the electorate's needs will face consequences. He urged party members to remain patient and respectful, cautioning against arrogance and neglect of their responsibilities.

Otu emphasized that the recall would be a first in Nigeria, stating that any representative who forgets their constituents will be brought back home. He also addressed grievances among party members, advising against switching parties to avoid unnecessary suffering and emphasizing the importance of discipline within the APC.
