Minister Doro Supports National Farm Cities Project

Doro, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, has reiterated his support for the full operationalisation of the National Farm Cities Project. This initiative aims to create a national model for disability and inclusive development, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

Doro made these remarks during a courtesy visit from Mr. Ayuba Burki, the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), along with delegates from the NCPWD and the Peace for Humanity Foundation.

During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was presented, which Doro indicated would need to be reviewed for effective implementation. The project is proposed to have a budget of 70 billion Naira, sourced from government budgets, donor partners, private sectors, and Internally Generated Revenue.

It aims to address the extreme unemployment and poverty faced by over 35 million persons with disabilities in Nigeria, particularly women and children, and will be implemented across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory.
