Content Creator Becca Oluwabukola Loses Bank Job Over TikTok

Becca Oluwabukola, a content creator known for her lifestyle videos on TikTok, recounted her experience of losing her job at an unnamed bank due to her social media usage. In a TikTok video shared on Thursday, she explained that she was directed to resign after the bank accused her of exposing a “sensitive area” in one of her office vlogs.

Becca began creating content in 2018 and often recorded videos at work due to a lack of space at home. In July 2022, she faced disciplinary action for a video that criticized her salary increment, which the bank deemed against its social media policy.

Although she was reinstated, concerns about her TikTok activities continued, leading to multiple warnings. In 2026, after filming her office area again, she was summoned by a disciplinary committee, where she apologized but was ultimately informed of her immediate resignation.

The Central Bank of Nigeria's regulations prohibit employees from publicly showing sensitive areas of banks without authorization.
