Ibadan Unveils Historical Library and Hall of Fame

On Tuesday, Dr. Debo Akand, the Director General of the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency, expressed support for the establishment of a historical library and Hall of Fame in Ibadan.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place at the Ibadan House, the capital of Oyo State, and was organized by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes. Akand emphasized the significance of the project in preserving the history and legacy of Ibadanland, which has long been a desire of the community.

The proposed library and Hall of Fame aim to document the contributions of notable Ibadan indigenes to national and global development, addressing the current lack of centralized recognition for their achievements. Ajeniyi Ajewol, President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, highlighted the initiative's role in honoring past heroes and heroines.

The project is expected to be completed within a few months, with support from various dignitaries, including Chief Moshood Aker, who commended the initiative's importance for future generations.
