Indonesia Honors Peacekeepers Killed in Lebanon Explosion

On March 29, three Indonesian peacekeepers—Fariz Rhomadhon (28), Zulmi Aditya Iskandar (33), and Muhammad Nur Ichwan (26)—were killed in an explosion in southern Lebanon during a UN logistics convoy. The incident, linked to ongoing conflicts between Israel and Hezbollah, prompted Indonesian authorities to demand a thorough investigation and enhanced security guarantees for peacekeeping forces.

The bodies of the fallen soldiers were returned to Indonesia, where military funerals were held in their hometowns—Zulmi in Bandung, West Java, and Ichwan and Fariz in Central Java and Yogyakarta, respectively. Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto condemned the attack, labeling it a heinous act against peace.

The Indonesian Foreign Ministry described the attack as unacceptable and urged the UN Security Council to convene to address the safety of peacekeepers. Agu Subiyanto, commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, assured that all fallen soldiers would receive compensation and recognition for their service.
