Hamdi Akujobi Joins Excelsior Rotterdam on Free Transfer

Hamdi Akujobi, a 26-year-old Nigerian-born right-back, has signed with Excelsior Rotterdam on a free transfer. His contract will keep him at the club until the end of the current season, with an option to extend for an additional year.

Although currently sidelined due to a cruciate ligament injury sustained during his time at SC Heerenveen, Akujobi is nearing full recovery. His experience in the Eredivisie is seen as a valuable asset for Excelsior as they aim to strengthen their defensive options.

Akujobi began his professional career at Feyenoord and has built a reputation as a disciplined and tactically aware defender. Once fully fit, he is expected to compete for a starting position and provide depth at the right-back position as Excelsior pushes through the end of the campaign.
