Ojudu Critiques NANS for Silence on Student Abductions

Babafemi Ojudu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former presidential media aide, expressed concern over the silence of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in light of the ongoing mass abduction of students across Nigeria. In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Ojudu lamented that students and schoolchildren are being abducted by bandits while NANS remains unresponsive.

He questioned the organization's current relevance, asking, “What happened to the organization that once stood as the conscience of Nigerian students?” Ojudu highlighted the troubling nature of a situation where students do not advocate for themselves in the face of significant threats. He contrasted the inaction of Nigerian students with their counterparts in other countries, such as India, who actively protest against issues like examination leakages and unemployment, emphasizing the need for Nigerian students to address the security and economic crises affecting them.
