NDDC Transfers Shoreline Protection Sites to Contractors

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) conducted a handover ceremony on Saturday to transfer shoreline protection project sites to contractors in Ayakoro Community, Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State. NDDC Director for Bayelsa State, Godknow Alamieyeseigha, highlighted the necessity of formal handover for the project to commence.

He noted the importance of community cooperation with contractors to ensure the project's success and to improve the welfare of the community. Seledi Thompson Wakama, NDDC Director of Corporate Affairs, urged community members to view themselves as stakeholders in the project and to report any abnormalities during its execution.

The project aims to secure land and protect infrastructure, with emphasis on respecting community traditions. Henri Okoli, a contractor, explained the technology to be deployed for land protection.

Chief Micah Itesi, the paramount ruler of Ayakoro, assured the community of cooperation with contractors for timely project completion.
