NICASA Urges Nigerian Government to Aid Citizens in South Africa

The Nigerian Citizens Association South Africa (NICASA), led by Frank Onyekwelu, has made an urgent appeal to the Nigerian government to intervene and assist citizens currently facing difficulties in South Africa. This call to action comes as hundreds of Nigerians have responded to the government's voluntary repatriation program, which has been hindered by delays in the scheduling of evacuation flights.

Onyekwelu reported that Nigerian citizens are experiencing humiliating and insensitive treatment from certain officials during the registration and screening process for the repatriation. He emphasized that these citizens, who have complied with official directives, deserve empathy and respect during this challenging time.

NICASA reiterated its commitment to support the government and relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of the voluntary repatriation program, stressing the urgent need for decisive action to address the suffering of stranded Nigerians.
