Sanwo-Olu Hosts Banquet for IG Disu in Lagos

On Saturday night, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hosted a state banquet at the State House in Marina to honor Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu. In his remarks, Sanwo-Olu referred to Disu as a "Lagos son" and praised his distinguished service and commitment to the state.

The governor highlighted Disu's early life and education in Lagos, which shaped his values and career trajectory. Sanwo-Olu noted Disu's previous role as the head of the Rapid Response Squad from 2015 to 2021, where he strengthened security and built public confidence.

The governor emphasized that Disu's career reflects the importance of integrity and hard work, reminding attendees that great achievements come from dedication. He earned a bachelor's degree in English Education from Lagos State University in 1990 and was appointed Inspector General of Police on February 24, 2023, by President Bola Tinubu, following the resignation of his predecessor, Kayode Egbetokun.
