Sanwo-Olu Supports Tunji Braithwaite's 10th Anniversary

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has shown his support for the 10th anniversary commemorating the death of late legal icon and political activist Tunji Braithwaite. This support was expressed during a courtesy visit from Braithwaite's family, which included his son, Olumide Braithwaite, and daughter, Dr.

Omowunmi Braithwaite, at the Lagos House in Marina. The anniversary is scheduled for May 2, 2026, at Transcorp Hotel in Abuja, with the theme focusing on political consciousness and leadership responsibilities within the Nigerian social contract.

Governor Sanwo-Olu acknowledged Braithwaite's significant contributions to democracy and human rights in Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of preserving democratic values. The event will feature the launch of a documentary on Braithwaite's life, a book review, and the unveiling of a comprehensive biography chronicling his political philosophy.

Sanwo-Olu also plans to visit Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike to seek institutional support for the event.
