Spires 5-Aside Tourney: White Tigers Rule Lagos Island Again

White Tigers football club, coached by Emmanuel Olom, clinched victory in the Spires Divisional Qualifiers on Lagos Island, defeating Young Strikers FC in the final at Stables Sports Centre in Surulere. The team scored 11 goals, securing their second consecutive championship.

Greater Tomorrow FC emerged victorious in the third-place game, while 2 Odds FC settled for fourth place. White Tigers FC received prize money, with Young Strikers FC also awarded a sum.

The tournament featured sixteen teams from different divisions, with three teams representing Lagos Island. The top teams from each division will advance to the state championship in October.

The prize money for the tournament has been increased to N10 million, aiming to incentivize teams and enhance competition. Organizer Bankole Allibay expressed satisfaction with the success of the qualifiers and looks forward to the upcoming state tournament in November 2025.
