Isaac Fayose Urges IGP to Involve UK Expert for State Police

Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has made a recommendation to Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu regarding the establishment of a state police system in Nigeria. In a Facebook post, Fayose urged Disu to engage an expert from the UK to assist in this initiative.

He described the move as a critical step towards enhancing community-based law enforcement. Fayose expressed concerns about the sabotage of state governors and highlighted the importance of creating a comprehensive salary structure for local police officers.

The call for expert involvement comes as the Inspector General inaugurated a committee on state police on Wednesday, indicating a significant development in the ongoing discussions about policing in Nigeria.
