Togo Seeks Increased Electricity Supply from Nigeria

Togo has expressed interest in increasing its electricity supply from Nigeria to address the growing demand for power. This request was made during a strategic meeting between a delegation from Compagnie Énergétique du Togo (CEET), led by Mr.

D. Bo K.

Mba Barandao, and the management of Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) in Abuja. Currently, Togo purchases 75 megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity from NDPHC on a bilateral basis.

The collaboration aims to enhance the reliability of electricity supply and support economic activities in Togo, especially as the country experiences an increase in electricity demand due to new industrial and commercial users. NDPHC's Managing Director, Jennif Adighij, reaffirmed the company's commitment to deepening collaboration with CEET and supporting electricity exports to neighboring countries.

The partnership is part of a broader strategy to strengthen energy trade in West Africa, ensuring stable electricity delivery and promoting regional energy integration.
