University of Greater Manchester Researchers Present Groundbreaking Psycho-intelligence Framework at International Conference

Researchers from the University of Greater Manchester, led by Professor Celestine Iwendi, presented a groundbreaking psycho-intelligence framework at the 12th International Conference on Reliability and Infocom Technologies Optimization (ICRITO) 2025. The research project, titled "Integrating Behavioural Science using Framework of Connected Systems," combines electroencephalography (EEG) and motion sensor data to decode users' cognitive and emotional states.

The framework merges neuroscience, behavioural science, and adaptive artificial intelligence (AI) to enable emotionally intelligent interactions, particularly in areas like education and healthcare. Professor Iwendi emphasized that the system represents a shift towards AI systems that respond empathetically to users' mental and emotional conditions, making digital interactions more inclusive and ethically grounded.

The research, developed in collaboration with a diverse team of researchers and a product designer, has attracted interest across academic and industry sectors for its potential applications in chatbots, telehealth platforms, and educational tools.
