Diaz Critiques Mbappe's Team Success Post-World Cup

Following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, former France star Kévin Diaz criticized Kylian Mbappe, drawing a comparison to NBA player James Harden. Diaz noted that while Mbappe has consistently performed well individually, his teams have not secured trophies.

He stated that both Mbappe and Harden excel in personal achievements but struggle to contribute to team success. Diaz remarked, “Kylian Mbappe is the best goalscorer in the world, the one with the best ability to finish,” but emphasized the importance of team cohesion in both soccer and basketball.

He pointed out that despite Mbappe's impact at the elite level, he has not led his teams to victories since winning the World Cup in 2018. Mbappe also played a crucial role in leading France to the final in 2022, where they were defeated by Argentina despite his hat trick.
