ADC Condemns APC for Praising Tinubu, Wike on Judges’ Quarters

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its praise of President Bola Tinubu and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike concerning the commissioning of the Judges’ Quarters. The ADC described the APC's actions as shameless and unethically inappropriate, stating that such spectacles further erode public confidence in the independence of the judiciary.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC expressed displeasure over the commendation given to Tinubu and Wike, arguing that judges deserve decent accommodations with adequate security provisions funded by the government, rather than being used to package political achievements. The ADC rejected the APC's stance, warning that awarding praise to political figures for discharging their responsibilities could jeopardize the welfare of judges, making them subject to the whims of political actors.

The APC had previously described the development as a major milestone marking the third anniversary of Tinubu's administration.
