Ten Arrested for Impersonation and Forgery in Oyo

On Sunday, the Oyo State Police Command announced the arrest of ten suspects involved in impersonation and forgery activities in Ibadan. The suspects, aged between 31 and 64, were apprehended in the Ogunpa area following a coordinated intelligence operation led by the police.

The arrested individuals include Mumini Akanbi (62), Quadri Muham (31), Salami Tajudeen (50), Oladipupo Ham (45), Oladipupo Taiwo (40), Olorunosebi Kazzeem (42), Fatai Akanni (54), Alamu Kazeem (60), Olalekan Afeez (42), and Alex Olanrewaju (64). A search warrant executed at their hideout resulted in the recovery of numerous incriminating items, including fake police character certificates, stamps from the Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State CID, various police divisions, and stamps from different ministries and commercial banks.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were part of a syndicate engaged in producing and using forged documents. The police have urged the public to report any suspicious activities to avoid falling victim to fraudsters.
