Federal Fire Service Launches Welfare Initiatives for Staff

On Tuesday, during the inauguration of a Quarter Guard at the Federal Fire Service National Headquarters in Wuse, Abuja, Controller-General Olumode Adeyemi announced the launch of a Medical Intervention Scheme and an increase in the Service’s interest-free loan facility from ₦300,000 to ₦500,000. These initiatives were implemented shortly after Adeyemi assumed office, reflecting his commitment to improving the welfare of the Service's personnel.

He declined a grand reception organized in his honor to redirect those funds towards purchasing mattresses and other support items for firefighters. The Medical Intervention Scheme aims to alleviate the financial burden of healthcare on personnel.

Adeyemi noted that these welfare reforms have significantly boosted morale among the workforce, with officers voluntarily constructing the Quarter Guard. He described this initiative as unprecedented, showcasing the confidence personnel have in the leadership of the Federal Fire Service.

Adeyemi also instructed M.A. Tambari to document exceptional contributions by officers for formal recognition.
