10 Million Nigerian Women Mobilize for Political Power

A significant mobilization of 10 million women in Nigeria is underway, signaling a shift from participation to power within the political landscape. Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, the Minister of Women Affairs, announced plans for a mega empowerment rally scheduled for May 5, 2026, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, which has a capacity of 60,000.

This initiative aims to consolidate women's organizations and amplify their influence in governance. The rally is expected to serve as a formal launchpad for the movement, bringing together representatives from 9,410 wards nationwide.

Suleiman emphasized that the movement is not merely about numbers but about creating a unified voice to shape national outcomes. The initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu's agenda to prioritize women and vulnerable groups in governance.

The rally will also feature special guests, including First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and aims to deliver concrete outcomes while reinforcing the administration's broader social development agenda.
