Military Plane Crash in Bolivia Kills 15, Injures Many

On Friday, a Bolivian military cargo plane, specifically a C-130 Hercules, crashed while attempting to land at El Alto International Airport near La Paz, resulting in at least 15 confirmed deaths and several injuries. The aircraft was reportedly carrying banknotes, which scattered upon impact, leading to a chaotic scene where bystanders rushed to collect the cash.

Colonel Pavel Tovar from the national fire department reported the incident, confirming the death toll and the recovery of bodies. The crash occurred on a busy avenue, damaging multiple vehicles.

The Bolivian Air Navigation Authority stated that the C-130 had departed from Santa Cruz before the crash. The cause of the accident has not been disclosed, and the Ministry of Defense has not provided further details.

The altitude of La Paz, at 3,650 meters (11,975 feet), is noted as the highest administrative capital in the world.
