DLA Candidates Back Tinubu for 2027 Re-election Bid

On October 15, 2026, Aboki Bayonga, the Chairman of the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) Governorship Candidates Forum from Taraba State, announced that 15 governorship candidates from the DLA have endorsed President Tinubu for his re-election bid in 2027. This decision was influenced by their assessment of Tinubu's performance and the absence of a presidential candidate from their party for the upcoming election.

Bayonga stated that while they support Tinubu as their presidential candidate, they will continue to pursue their ambitions within the DLA. He emphasized the importance of mobilizing support for Tinubu to secure another four-year term.

The candidates cited initiatives like the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, agricultural support, and road construction as reasons for their endorsement. They believe Tinubu's continued leadership would allow him to consolidate achievements and improve the country.

Other members of the forum include Adamu Idrisu Chado, Bekky Folorunso James, Professor Valdya Tame, Hon. Sam Umar, Alhaji Sani Mohammed, Hon. Nnamdi Ugwu, and Hon. Brent Micheal.
