Morocco Appeals Against Senegal in AFCON 2025 Final Dispute

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has lodged an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport concerning the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final. This appeal arises from a challenge by the Senegalese Football Federation against the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) decision to uphold Morocco's title following Senegal's withdrawal from the final against the Atlas Lions.

Moroccan sources, including the federation, have rejected claims that they missed the legal deadline for their submission. They maintain that the procedural timeline was adhered to, and the deadline for submission fell on a weekend, which automatically extended the filing period.

The Moroccan Football Federation intends to strengthen its legal position against allegations of procedural irregularities that may influence CAF's proceedings. The legal documents were submitted on Monday, May 11, 2026.
