Senate Criticizes Security Agency Heads for Tardiness

During a budget defense session, the Nigerian Senate, particularly through Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, expressed strong disapproval of the late arrival of heads of various security agencies. The session was scheduled to commence at 11:00 AM, but many agency heads, including those from the National Security Agency and the Department of State Services, arrived late.

Senator Kalu, a former member of the National Assembly, stated that the Senate would no longer tolerate such behavior, labeling the latecomers' attitude as "absolute rubbish." The Senate's National Security Intelligence Committee, led by Senator Yahaya Abdullahi, took this as a wake-up call for agency heads, emphasizing the importance of punctuality during critical budget discussions. The session aimed to address serious national security issues, and the tardiness of agency heads was seen as a lack of seriousness regarding their responsibilities.
