2026 FIFA World Cup: Amaju Pinnick Confident Super Eagles Will Qualify

Amaju Pinnick, former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, is optimistic that the Super Eagles will secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite facing challenges in the qualifying campaign. The team currently sits seven points behind South Africa, who have been fielding an ineligible player.

With three different head coaches leading the team in six matches, including Finidi George and Gernot Rohr, the Eagles have had a mixed performance. Pinnick emphasized that there is still a mathematical possibility for Nigeria to qualify, but they need to win their remaining four games.

The fate of the Eagles will likely be determined in upcoming matches against Rwanda and South Africa. Pinnick remains hopeful that Nigeria will be among the 48 nations competing in the World Cup in Canada and Mexico.
