Strict Rules for Fans at 2026 World Cup Stadiums

Fans attending matches during the 2026 World Cup, scheduled from June 11 to July 19, will encounter stringent rules regarding stadium entry. The regulations, confirmed recently, limit the types of bags, horns, and water bottles that can be brought into the stadiums.

Only clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags measuring no larger than 12 x 6 x 12 inches will be permitted, alongside smaller wallet or clutch bags not exceeding 4.5 x 6.5 inches. Larger items will not be allowed, and fans may need to utilize storage facilities provided at the venues.

Noise-making instruments such as air horns and vuvuzelas will be banned due to safety concerns. However, standard flags and banners will be allowed, subject to size approval.

Food and drinks will generally be prohibited, but empty reusable plastic bottles up to one liter will be permitted for refilling at the venue. These measures are crucial for ensuring smooth entry as FIFA anticipates a record attendance for the tournament.
