FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that the 2026 FIFA World Cup is progressing smoothly and will deliver an unforgettable experience for fans worldwide. The tournament is scheduled to begin on June 11, 2026, with Mexico City hosting the opening match between Mexico and South Africa.

Infantino emphasized that the three host nations—Canada, Mexico, and the United States—are fully aligned in their preparations, which include stadium upgrades and logistical arrangements.
