Kwankwaso Disagrees with Yusuf's APC Move, Predicts Loss in 2027 Election

In a political development in Nigeria, former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has disagreed with Abba Yusuf's chances of winning the 2027 governorship election after defecting to the APC from the NNPP. Kwankwaso criticized Yusuf for betraying the Kwankwasiyya movement by aligning with the Ganduje-led faction known as Gandujiyya.

Kwankwaso highlighted that the support of Ganduje does not guarantee victory, citing Ganduje's losses in previous elections. The defection of Yusuf has triggered political tensions in Kano, with Kwankwaso emphasizing the incompatibility between Kwankwasiyya and Gandujiyya ideologies.

Despite the tensions, Kwankwaso remains confident in the stability of the NNPP and the Kwankwasiyya movement in Kano. In response, the APC's Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, expressed confidence in Yusuf's alignment with Ganduje, citing the latter's track record of supporting winning candidates in other states.
