Tinubu's Aide Critiques Atiku's Election Focus

On October 6, 2026, Temitope Ajayi, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Bola Tinubu, accused Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, of being a typical politician focused solely on winning elections. Ajayi stated that Atiku and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, are attempting to reverse the progress made under Tinubu's administration through what he termed "misdirected populism." He asserted that while Atiku is preoccupied with electoral victory, President Tinubu is dedicated to the long-term sustainability and development of Nigeria.

Ajayi claimed that the economic reforms initiated by Tinubu are yielding visible benefits, enhancing Nigeria's fiscal strength and overall economic performance compared to when Tinubu took office in 2023.
