Atiku Abubakar Lacks Funds Compared to Tinubu, Says Momodu

Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, stated that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar does not possess even 1% of the campaign funds available to Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election. During an interview on a political program, Momodu warned that Nigeria is drifting towards a one-party state, reminiscent of the era under former military ruler Sani Abacha.

He emphasized that despite the financial imbalance, Atiku's camp reflects a commitment to sustaining opposition politics in Nigeria. Momodu dismissed claims of a betrayal by Atiku, asserting that he does not attend covert meetings without Atiku's knowledge.

He criticized the current administration's handling of the economy and suggested that Tinubu's government is disconnected from the realities faced by Nigerians. Momodu's remarks come amid increasing political maneuvering among opposition parties as they prepare for the 2027 presidential election.
