Funso Ayeni Calls for Investigation After Campaign Office Attack

Funso Ayeni, the African Democratic Congress senatorial candidate for Ekiti North, condemned the attack on his campaign office located in Ido Ekiti, which was inaugurated the previous Thursday. During an assessment visit on Saturday, Ayeni called for a police investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.

He emphasized the need for political tolerance ahead of the 2027 general elections, stating that political competition should focus on ideas rather than violence. Ayeni urged supporters to remain calm and not retaliate.

Ayodele David-Adesua, the National Democratic Congress House of Representatives candidate for Ikole/Oye Federal Constituency, expressed solidarity with Ayeni, condemning the act of vandalism and calling for a thorough investigation. Both candidates stressed the importance of a peaceful political environment in Ekiti State, advocating for a focus on accountability and constructive political discourse.
