Atiku Meets ADP Chairman Amid Opposition Alliance Speculation for 2027 Election

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, engaged in discussions with the Chairman of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Yabagi Yusuf Sani, amid growing speculation of an opposition alliance ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The meeting, which included senior ADP executives, took place at Atiku's residence in Abuja.

Speculation has been mounting about a potential coalition to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election. Recent reports suggest that former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, may form a joint ticket under the African Democrat Congress (ADC), adding complexity to Atiku's reported interest in securing the ADC presidential ticket.

However, following the meeting, ADP's Chairman clarified that the engagement was not aimed at recruiting Atiku into the party but was a courtesy interaction. The talks were not part of any formal political realignment ahead of the 2027 polls.
