Igbo Elder Orji Uzor Kalu Disowns Peter Obi Ahead of 2027 Election

Orji Uzor Kalu, a prominent Igbo elder and former governor of Abia State, has publicly disowned Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate for the Labour Party in 2023. Kalu, who withdrew from the 2023 presidential race and backed Senator Ahmad Lawan, warned against supporting Obi and instead endorsed Bola Tinubu.

Despite calls for an Igbo presidency, Kalu stressed the need for strategic political decisions. Additionally, Kalu criticized Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara for potential developmental setbacks if not aligned with the right political figures.
