APC Chieftain Welcomes Goodluck Jonathan to 2027 Presidential Race

A top chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state, Olumuyiwa Asagunla, welcomed former President Goodluck Jonathan's potential entry into the 2027 presidential race. Asagunla, the director general of the Asiwaju Mandate Group, expressed openness to Jonathan's participation, stating, "The more, the merrier." This comes amidst rumors of Jonathan's interest in challenging the incumbent president.

Asagunla emphasized Jonathan's constitutional right to run for office and encouraged him to join the race if he decides to. The APC chieftain's stance contrasts with Kenneth Okonkwo's advice to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to let Jonathan enjoy retirement.

Okonkwo suggested that Jonathan's entry could impact the fortunes of the APC's presidential candidate in 2027.
