The organization's Executive Director, Samson Itodo, emphasized the importance of careful management to prevent what could be the nation's most expensive and compromised elections.

Itodo highlighted the need for a statesmanlike approach to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process, particularly amidst a forthcoming leadership transition at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). With the exit of the current INEC chairman and other key officials, YIAGA Africa stressed the urgency of ensuring a smooth transition to maintain public trust in the electoral system.
