Concerns Over Rivalry Among ADC Presidential Aspirants

The Handshake Movement has expressed concerns over the rivalry among presidential aspirants Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the 2027 general elections approach. In a statement from the group's national secretary, Chinedu Okpalanma, the importance of adhering to the party's constitution and internal processes was emphasized to ensure transparency, fairness, and unity within the party.

The group highlighted that the competition among these aspirants could create divisions within the coalition party, especially in the context of challenging President Bola Tinubu and the ruling party in the upcoming elections. The Handshake Movement underscored the necessity for unity among aspirants to strengthen the ADC's credibility as a political alternative capable of restoring public confidence in Nigeria's democracy.
