Sambo Warns of APC Crisis Ahead of 2027 Elections

Sambo, a director within the APC, predicts that there will be "weeping and gnashing of teeth" within the party in the next two weeks due to the outcomes of the party's nomination process for the upcoming 2027 elections. He expressed concerns during a morning show on Monday, stating that the APC is likely to face significant internal crises as aggrieved aspirants react to the nomination process.

Sambo specifically noted that the APC has experienced considerable internal dissatisfaction, primarily caused by disputes arising from the party's primary consensus arrangements, which may violate the Electoral Act. He emphasized that aspirants who fail to secure the party ticket may find their options limited, especially given legal restrictions that prevent candidates from defecting to other political parties after the primaries.

Sambo urged Nigerian political parties to pay close attention to the provisions of the Electoral Act to avoid violations during the primaries.
