Lawyer Confirms Goodluck Jonathan's Eligibility for 2027 Presidency

Senior lawyer Ubani SAN asserts that former President Goodluck Jonathan is legally eligible to run for the 2027 presidential election as per the 1999 constitution. Ubani clarified that Jonathan's eligibility is based on constitutional provisions and previous court rulings affirming his right to contest.

He emphasized that the constitution does not restrict Jonathan from running, citing his initial assumption of office in 2010 following President Yar Adua's death. Ubani highlighted that Jonathan's first elected term began in 2011 and reiterated that his eligibility has been consistently upheld by court judgments, emphasizing the former president's constitutional right to seek the presidency.
