Labour Party to Mobilize for 2027 Elections Post-Judgment

Sam Okpala, the Secretary of the Labour Party in Lagos State, stated that the party is currently awaiting a court judgment before it can fully mobilize for the 2027 general elections. In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday, Okpala indicated that once the judgment is delivered, the Labour Party will initiate its preparations for the elections.

He emphasized that, at present, not much activity is taking place within the party. Okpala conveyed hope for the party's future, suggesting that even if immediate political goals are not met, there will be opportunities in future elections, specifically mentioning the year 2031.

This announcement comes amid efforts by opposition parties to strengthen their structures and build alliances ahead of the 2027 elections. Okpala assured that the Labour Party remains intact and committed to uniting its members, expressing optimism that clarity will emerge after the court's decision, allowing the party to advance its political plans.
