Obasanjo Favors Peter Obi Over Atiku for 2027 Elections

Ahead of the 2027 elections, Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declared that former President Olusegun Obasanjo does not favor Atiku Abubakar, the ADC's presidential candidate. Momodu indicated that Obasanjo is more inclined towards Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

During an appearance on News Central TV, Momodu stated that the outcome of the presidential election would depend on Nigerians' evaluation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration's performance rather than divisions within the opposition. He noted that Obasanjo had not prosecuted Atiku and referred to their past conflicts, suggesting that Obasanjo might support a ticket involving Obi and Kwankwaso.

Momodu mentioned that if Atiku is destined to be President, no force could prevent it, despite Obasanjo's apparent lack of support for him, which he believed had been settled in 2019.
