Obasanjo Plans Obi-Kwankwaso Alliance for 2027 Presidency Challenge

Former President Obasanjo is leading efforts to unite former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso for the 2027 elections, aiming to enhance their chances against President Bola Tinubu. The alliance is expected to challenge Atiku Abubakar for the presidency under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

High-level discussions have taken place, with Kwankwaso possibly being persuaded to be Obi's running mate. Both Obi and Kwankwaso have neither confirmed nor denied the reported meetings with Obasanjo.

The strategy is to ensure a prominent presence of the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket in the 2027 race.
